Bus and Boat Ticket by IRG

There are numerous bus operators that have routes all over Cambodia. Finding the time you want to and to your destination is now easier with IRG. Below is a list of bus operators that IRG services.

To reach Siem Reap via boat or to reach Chau Doc (Vietnam) via boat, you can ask us to make this arrangement.  The boat leaving Phnom Penh International Port (93Eo, Sisowatch Street) is at 13:00.  The trip requires a transit at the border, where guests will be asked to leave the boat to get their visa stamped. Then after, guests will return to the boat and continue to Chau Doc.  The entire trip is approximately 4 to 5 hours.

Another new popular travel from Phnom Penh is Phu Quoc island.  This trip requires you to take two transportations — van and ferry.  First, guests will be picked up from a hotel in Phnom Penh and travel to Ha Tien via van.  During this trip, guests will transit in Kep and be transferred to a shuttle bus which will usually take about 5 minutes. From Kep, guests will travel to the Cambodia/Vietnam border, and the driver will collect the passports and processed the visa stamping.  Once the passports have been returned, the guests will continue on the shuttle bus to Ha Tien to collect the ferry tickets, which the passports will be collected again to verification. Once ferry tickets have been acquired, guests will continue on the shuttle bus to the ferry terminal.  The ferry from Ha Tien to Phu Quoc island should take approximately an hour and thirty minutes.
+ 7:30 AM, guests are being picked up from a hotel in Phnom Penh
+ 4 hours and 30 min later, guests will transit in Kep
+ It takes 15 min to travel from Kep to border
+ Border crossing takes around 30 min
+ From border to ferry ticket collection site, this takes 10 minutes.
+ It takes 10 min to collect ticket.
+ Another 15 min to travel to ferry terminal.
+ Arrival time to ferry terminal is approximately 12:30PM.
+ Ferry departs at 13:15PM, and it takes an hour and thirty minutes to arrive to Phu Quoc island.
+ 14:45PM, guests arrive to Phu Quoc island on Ham Ninh port.

Thai and Vietnam VISA from Cambodia – Khmer Visa Extension

Need a visa to enter Thailand or Vietnam through Cambodian borders?  Need a Khmer visa extension?  IRG can help you to expedite these services for you.

Cambodia Visa:
Tourist or Business visa can be obtained upon arrival to Phnom Penh International Airport. Please check the Cambodia Immigration website for the latest Visa price before your arrival.  Try to have the exact bill (note) in United States dollars when making the payment to the Cambodian immigration officer to expedite your visa upon arrival.  It is always good to carry extra passport photo (4×6), but there are cases where travelers do forget their photo and are still able to obtain visa upon arrival. For Business visa, you will need to provide a letter of employment. Both Tourist and Business visa upon airport arrival is eligible for 1 month single entry only.

Once you have a tourist visa but then you want to upgrade to a business visa because now you have an employment in Cambodia, there are two options to consider:
(1) Upgrade from Tourist to Business visa will cost $190. With this, you will receive 1 month single entry business visa.
(2) Leave Cambodia and re-enter at Phnom Penh International Airport and apply for a Business visa, which is a 1 month single entry business visa. The estimated fee is between $75 and $85, which include both visa fee and handling fee.

After you receive a Business visa from either option 1 or 2, you can apply for a 1 month single entry, 3 months multiple entries, 6 months multiple entries, or 12 months multiple entries business visa.

Vietnam Visa in Cambodia:
Some countries will have some privileges on the number of days that they can enter and stay in Vietnam without acquiring a visa.
15 days free: Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Norway, Japan, Myanmar, and South Korea.
21 days free: Philippine and Indonesia
1 month free: Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and Cambodia.
Please contact your local embassy for the latest update and confirmation of above privileges.

For new Vietnam visa inquiry, please note that you can request the Visa date.  If a Vietnam visa is already made, you can also amend the Visa date as long as the date is not passed yet, but there is a fee to make this change. Please contact us for the price to do this.

Also for China passport holders, please note that you will need to provide 2 photograph of 4×6.  As for India passport holders, there is no guarantee that the visa will be approved by the Vietnam embassy.

An updated post on cinema

I recently made a visit to the AEON Cineplex Cinema, and I was astonished.  This brand new cinema was very modern and clean. 4Dmax and VIP seating are also available.  If you are looking for a more private and comfortable viewing, I highly recommend the VIP seating. The chair is more spacious but it comes with a bigger price tag. If you are a cellcard reward customer, visit AEON Cineplex Cinema on Wednesday evening to receive a discount.

Another cinema discovery is Meanchey Legend Cinema. Although this cinema is a little far from the city, you still can enjoy the cinema experience without the crowd.  Going there is a nice way to discover the city and often time Stueng Meanchey is neglected by the Phnom Penh goers.

French food in Phnom Penh

I have always a fascination for French food.  I think it has to do with my growing up while studying French in high school.   As small of a city as it is, Phnom Penh has quite a number of French restaurants to choose from.   I’ll do my best to describe my experiences.

La Residence (the old Ranaridth’s House)
By far, this French restaurant is on the top of the most expensive French restaurant in Phnom Penh.  It may on same list of the most expensive restaurant as well.   The atmosphere here is quite astonishing.  A waiting cafe bar is available while you’re expecting your friends to arrive.  An enclosed dining area or private room is available upon request.  The room’s aesthetic presents itself in the most refined wooden floor and white, creamy walls and ceilings, making the atmosphere so refined and elegant.  Each table is decorated with white linen and shinny silverwares, allowing the diners feel clean and refresh.

Le Gourmet (inside Naga World)
Located on the second floor of Naga World Casino and Hotel, this little restaurant has so much to offer.  Distance from all the noise, the atmosphere of this restaurant still gets a high remark from me. The setting is quiet radiance and white. You get the sense of sitting in a really 5 stars restaurant.

Topaz (next to Cambodia Angkor Air office, on Norodom Blvd)
This restaurant is one of the most visited French restaurant in Phnom Penh, in my opinion. The parking space is always filled up with nice fancy, luxury cars starting from 5pm daily. The restaurant offers both private and common sitting area. It’s a great place for a private event.

Open Wine (behind Royal Palace)
Open Wine is the smallest in size if compared with the three above. The outdoor sitting adds home feel to the atmosphere.  I recommend trying their duck here.
